Kat Webber crafts immersive worlds that seamlessly balance authenticity and abstraction.
At her core she is a collaborative storyteller, driven by a deep passion for creating narratives rooted in compelling characters, while infusing them with an imaginative visual flair. Drawing on her background as an editor, spanning over a decade in commercial, music video, film and television, Kat possesses a unique ability to reverse engineer her creative vision, resulting in intentional and impactful storytelling. Having earned a BFA from York University’s Acting Conservatory, she not only has a deep understanding of the technical aspects of filmmaking, but also an innate appreciation for the performers’ process. Kat is able to draw powerful performances from actors, real people, musicians, dancers and athletes.
Kat has an unwavering mission to amplify the female gaze and empower women through her storytelling.
Some of her career highlights include lead editing Global Television’s new series “Robyn Hood” and contributing as an additional style editor on the acclaimed STARZ television series “P-Valley.” She edited an international broadcast campaign for Dolby that premiered at the 2019 American Music Awards and has worked on multiple award-winning music videos for some of the globe’s top artists like Drake, SZA, Coldplay and Jessie Reyez, including a JUNO for Music Video of the Year. As a director, Kat has been recognized by Complex as one of “Canada’s Top 10 Music Video Directors,” and her visual storytelling has extended to commercial clients such as Under Armour, Cadillac, Nike, and FujiFilm.
